Yet again we see another post on this fans site about the Bradford Rattlers and there classless displays. This time against the South Muskoka Shield, in the third period as the Rattlers were up on the Shield ten to three, number eleven on Rattlers Dave Malicek flicked the puck onto his stick then tapped it over a shields players head and scored. After his team scored he pumped his fist, picked up the puck and threw it to the referee in a disrespectful fashion. Malicek was then kicked out of the game, but did he go to the dressing room like he was suppose to…no! He sat in the hallway watching the game. The referee then caught eye of him standing there and told him to go to the dressing room. I’m not sure what Malicek did then after but it was something to get him another game for his actions. We here at the GMHL Fan site cannot understand why the Rattlers cannot just win with some class instead of sticking it to the other teams in this league. Also we here at the GMHL Fan site are not so proud to give the first ever GMHL fan site sore winners of the week to the Bradford Rattlers.

Coming off a big win on Thursday nights, the Nipissing Alouettes showed signs of fatigue hosting the league’s top team the Bradford Rattlers on Friday night in Sturgeon Falls. After scoring the opening goal, the Rattlers reeled off eight straight earning an 8-2 decision over the Alouettes. Will Laporte and Cody Tourigny scored for the Alouettes. Tristan Jones took the loss allowing 6 goals on 34 shots before being relieved by Pat Beaudry who allowed 2 goals on 12 shots.
The Alouettes now get ready for a road trip which begins Friday night in Gravenhurst against the South Muskoka Shield before heading to Toronto to take on the Moose on Saturday night.

Coming off two tough road losses in RIchmond Hill and Bradford last weekend, the Nipissing Alouettes became the first team to beat the Temiscaming Royals in regulation time on Thursday night in Temiscaming.

Mackenzie Charron scored three times for the winners whil Jarrod Shawanda, Andre Landry, Cody Tourigny and Will Laporte scored the other goals for the Alouettes. Tristan Jones was busy in the Alouettes goal facing 62 shots to pick up the win.

The Alouettes don’t have time to rest as they face the Bradford Rattlers on Friday night at the Sturgeon Falls Arena. Game time is 8pm.

This month’s goalie of the month was very close and came down within one vote. The winner of this month’s goalie of the month goes to Jens Kensell of the Deseronto Storm. Jens is sitting fourth behind Matt Treadwell of Innisfil, Alex Scola of Elliot Lake, and Andreas Goetz of Bradford for goals against average. Kensell averages 2.80 goals per game. Jens stellar saves, quick moves and fan approval that helped him become this month’s winner. Congrats Jen’s Kensell. Honorable mention goes out to this months finalists Andreas Goetz of Bradford and Matt Madgett of Douro.

This month’s POTM goes out to none other than Darcy Vaillancourt of the Temiscaming Royals. Darcy lead the league in scoring for most of October. Darcy is now third in scoring in the GMHL behind Mitch Wood and Adam Palm of the Bradford Rattlers with sixteen goals, seventeen assists and thirty three points. Darcy’s tremendous play and love from his fans over this month of October is the reason for Darcy to receive this month’s award. Congratulations Darcy! Honorable mention goes out to this months finalists William Laporte of the Nipissing Alouettes and Kurt Thompson of the Tamworth Cyclones.

For the Bradford Rattlers times are easy going, but for the teams playing Bradford it’s as bad as a trip to boresville. Bradford time and time again put a beating down on the weaker teams without letting up. Always taught that after going up on a team by six or seven goals and the win is in the bag the respectful thing to do is let up and just play around, well the Bradford Rattlers do not seem to get that concept defeating teams such as Nipissing, Douro, and Tamworth by fifteen goals. Tonight wasn’t much different as they slaughtered the Nipissing Alouettes 14-1. Now a score like that wouldn’t be a bad thing if everyone just played hockey, but in this case it is what we at the GMHL Fan site like to call “a shit show”. The Bradford Rattlers kept on scoring and the Alouettes got madder taking several stupid penalties and misconducts. Some fans were saying that this game was the worst game they have ever seen in Bradford [GMHL Message Board]. I must say tho that not all the fault is on Bradford as Nipissing’s actions were not justified, but does a team really need to go up on a team fifteen to nothing. I understand it may be for university stats, but when a scout looks at your stats he also looks at the score of the games you played in. If a player gets five goals in a game that your team wins 15-0 the scout is not going to think much of it. Also to add if most of the players have stats well above the rest of the league, don’t you think that the scout might think something is up? Exspecially if you are winning 15-0.

Also in the game tonight Nipissing Alouettes player Jesse Pedneault was giving a ten minute misconduct for yelling at the ref. Once in the penalty box Jesse started to verbally sexually assault the female timekeeper to the point where she was about to report it to the police!

Tim Murray, Assistant GM for the Ottawa Senators, will be scouting the Bradford vs. Innisfil game on Sunday, December 16th, 2007. During a phone call with Dan Garneau and Bob Russell, Mr. Murray said that he will be in attendance and is interested in scouting Andreas Goetz from Bradford and Tim Revell from Innisfil.

The GMHL is pleased to announce that the following scouts and recruiters have notified the league head office to confirm that they will be attending the All Star Finlandia game in Finlandia on November 1st. Here are the following organizations that are planning to be scouting at this game:

- Finlandia Division 3
- Michigan Tech Division 1
- St Lawrence Division 1
- Clarkson Division 1
- Boston Bruins NHL
- Northern Michigan Division 1 (possible, but not confirmed)

The Bradford Rattlers have yet another player possibly going to the pro’s. Will Roberts a former player in Bradford has been invited to the tryout camp of the Mon Valley Thunder of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (MAHL). The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League is a A level Professional Hockey League in the United States. More info on this story to come.
